Second Animation Test
My second animation is using a teddy bear rig. It is a simple walk cycle for now.
This is a page of quick sketches as reference for my animation. I find it useful to get down on paper the key poses to help influence my animation itself.

This is my latest attempt at animation, it is using the Teddy bear rig (Eugene Izmailov). I decided to try animating the walk cycle a little differently from my usual method. Usually I would use the reference at Idleworm (http://www.angryanimator.com/word/2010/11/26/tutorial-2-walk-cycle/) and then use that as a base walk cycle to then add the character in the way I want. I decided to use a different timing for this walk so I tried to animate this without the reference. At first it was a bit difficult but I feel I managed to get across what I was going for, A creepy teddy bear who just wants a hug. The timing is perhaps still a bit slow at times but I wanted to get this version uploaded so I could reflect on it with the intention of doing another one using the Idelworm reference tomorrow.
Summary:
The reason I started this particular animation is because I want to do a walk cycle with a character that would present a somewhat different challenge to a normal human.
I'm not quite at a pace or quality to be able to finish off a walk cycle in about 3-4 hours yet. Hopefully I'll be able to do this in a couple of weeks. I feel I am still learning how to animate in 3D in a way since I know whats wrong in the animation but I found myself struggling to solve it using the timeline/graph editor in Maya.
